Olsen brings national team to Vojens next summer!
The Danish speedway fans all remember the dramatic final in Vojens last year. Denmark won in front of 18,000 people the world championship ahead of Poland, who otherwise showed good shape on Danish soil. Now the national team will yet again get the possibility of triumph, in front of a massive Danish audience, because Vojens Speedway Center has been awarded the FIM Speedway World Cup 2010 - Race Off and Final.
-I am exceedingly happy. Both the FIM and organizers from IMG have praised our execution of the races this year, and has among other things used it as a justification that we get next year's "Race Off" and the "Final", says a happy Ole Olsen from Speed Sport.
The Race Off is a kind of semi-final, where we find the last two teams from the preliminary races to go in to the Final of the championship. It takes place on Vojens Speedway Center Thursday 29th of July and already two days later, Saturday 31st of July the tradition-rich stadium will be the setting for the World Team Finals, where four teams fight for the World Cup.
-There is a huge interest in Denmark for our speedway team. We Danes love to root for our team whether it's handball, football or speedway. That we've seen time and time again when the national team has come to Vojens with the national flag on their chest, says Ole Olsen.
Already on Monday the 19th of October the ticket sales start up. And if you are quick to order your tickets, there is really a lot of money to save for next year's FIM Speedway World Cup. Buy a ticket to the finals, and you are offered the "Race Off" ticket for half price (it must be the same fare category for both races and you have to call Billetlugen at +45 70 263 267).
-I gather that the 24th of December there will be plenty of World Cup tickets under the Danish Christmas trees. We have seen it before that many fans give each other tickets for Christmas and I think it certainly is the case this year. It will be a few intense days in July next year and I can guarantee that the Danish guys will do anything to wipe the slate clean again and regain the world championship. Now they have the best opportunity, which is home ground in front of all the Danish fans ends Ole Olsen.
