Get a good ending point of the closing time of the day with one hour of live quality music in the Queen’s Hall of the Black Diamond.
The orchestra of this season is The Sjælland String Quartet who at three concerts will play three Beethoven Quartets, selected Schubert-lieder, an Anders Koppel saxophone quintet and a string quartet by Heise.
The Sjælland String Quartet (Phillipe Benjamin Skow 1st violin , John Bak Dinitzen 2nd violin , Bernd Rinne viola , Richard Krug cello) was founded in 2004 by leading members of the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra . After their first appearance in the Tivoli Concert Hall in Copenhagen they rapidly established themselves as a well known ensemble in Danish music life.
At this first concert in the series the quartet will be visited by the coveted Danish singer, baritone Johan Reuter. He has played at various great venues and festivals in the world, such as the Bayreuth Festival and the Salzburger Festival. This spring Reuter had his debut at the Metropolitan in New York as Jaroslaw Prus in Janáceks opera The Makropulos Case. This Tuesday in the Queen’s Hall he will sing a carefully selected number of Schuberts lieder with string quartet accompaniment.
